Schöneberg may seem like a bit of a dead spot on the map for those new to Berlin but look again! It has so much to offer.
Probably one of the most famous buildings in Berlin is in Schöneberg the “Kaufhaus des Westens”, the KaDeWe - the number one luxurious shopping Mecca! Viktoria-Luise-Platz is not far from here, a part of Schöneberg with beautiful old-style apartment blocks from the turn of the century. Many who want to settle in the West City, choose Schöneberg.
The Bayerischen Viertel offers a different residential set up: this is a more middle-class part of town. All over Schöneberg you find wonderful old-style apartments. The area around the train station S-Bahn Schöneberg is perhaps the least attractive part of the district – Hauptstraße is relatively loud but offers lots of different shops, and its side streets are quieter with small cafes and restaurants.
