A pet liability insurance is usually required
Important for you to know: As soon as you are a resident of Hamburg, you have to take out dog liability insurance for your dog in case your pet causes damage. This is also good coverage in case your dog damages furniture or scratches the floor in your temporary apartment. Your dog liability insurance will usually cover these costs. Do you have a cat? Then your personal liability insurance covers the cost of any damage to the apartment. However, many lessors require a liability insurance policy specific for pets.
