The easiest way is for you to fill out an online search request. You will receive suggestions from us – as long as is required.

Costs

Our commission is then due, when you have actually rented your furnished flat or apartment through City-Wohnen. The commission is calculated upon the term of lease and the rent per month.

You have found a new job and need help quickly with your search for a wonderful furnished apartment in Hamburg or Berlin? Your company is going to look after the costs, but you still don’t have time to look for an apartment? We will be more than happy to take some of the stress away!

Arranging appointments

As soon as you have registered with us, you will receive the landlords contact details, so that you can quickly arrange individual appointments. Please let us know if you cannot contact the landlord, or if you do not have time to organise the appointments yourself.

Come to a decision?

The furnished apartment was to your liking and you would like to rent it? Let us know as soon as possible, so that we can get everything moving for you. You can go through the most important things with your landlord. You have already received basic information from us, there is however more to be clarified. For example: When will the handing over of the key take place, to which account should the rent and deposit be transferred to? Should the apartment be cleaned, or will you look after that yourself? And the most important of all: when will the rental contract be drawn up?

The rental contract

In most cases, the landlord will have received a rental contract form from us, which you only need to fill out and sign together. Ideally in the same place at the same time. We are of course more than happy to help you, should you have any questions, or should any peculiarities arise. Most questions can be cleared up straight away.

In writing and the handing over protocol

Despite the fact that the formalities are arduous, they are important. If it comes to unexpected differences between the rental parties, you will then be happy to have specified everything in writing and drawn up a protocol of the handing over of the apartment.

Rent and deposit

The rental agreement exists between you and your landlord and in general it is him who receives the rent and the deposit. According to BGB § 551, the deposit, plus interest, is to be paid back after a reasonable period of time, as long as no claims from the rental agreement still exist or are expected.

Cleaning of the apartment

The maintenance of an apartment is dealt with in different ways. Some landlords offer a weekly cleaning service, or require that a professional end cleaning take place. You will normally be charged extra for this. Whatever the case may be, make sure to make a note of this in the rental contract. The cleaning issue has not been dealt with and you have no time to look after it yourself? We will be more than happy to recommend a professional cleaning company.

Termination of the rental contract

You wish to end the rental agreement prematurely and have come to an agreement with your landlord? It is also important here – due to evidence and the legal validity – to have these agreements in writing. We will be more than happy to send you a form for the termination of the rental contract, should you so wish.

Personal liability insurance free of charge

City-Wohnen offers you a personal liability insurance, which is free of charge for up to one year (for €60 we can insure you for the period after one year). Your landlord should have the documents.

Household insurance

Household insurance depends on the object been covered. If the apartment you have rented is insured, then this is also covered for the period of time during your stay in the furnished apartment.
